Cabin update

We're working fast to get ready for the visitors for the month of March. We put in the doorbell so we'll know when they are here.
We painted the upstairs and the great room...
put in carpets upstairs...
had the cabinet doors in the kitchen adjusted...
and did the window trim on the picture windows and started installing the faux beams on the cathedral ceiling. People say it looks so great that you feel like you need to say a prayer because you are entering a church!

Baptism time

Sunday was Mary's baptism. Afterwards we had food and fun with 14 grandchildren at the log cabin.

Valentine's Day Dinner

The Carr, Henderson, Wilcox, and Thompson parents had a quadruple dinner date of Mexican food to celebrate Valentine's day.

Hoot! Hoot!

The Carrs came to visit so we had to celebrate with their famous and delicious hootenanny breakfast!

Cabin update

Here are the latest updates on the cabin. We are now in the master bedroom.
We now have a sink in the master bath.
And the missionaries helped us sod the new entrance walkway ramp so old folks won't have to climb stairs to enter the house.

New Things

Look what Kim bought us to make our life more pleasant, especially when grandkids come and get dirty having fun at Camp Thompson Ranch.
She also got us a garden dump wagon to help us move our dirt piles around more rapidly than we can with our little red wagon as we landscape around the house. It took me two hours to put together what the instructions said would be a 20 minute project.
We also have two new puppies, born about a week ago.

Planting Cabbage

We are surrounded by Florida cabbage and potato fields. This past two weeks they have been planting cabbage next door to harvest for Saint Patrick's Day. I got these pictures when they got close to our fence. You can see how one crew takes young plants from flats and puts them in a funnel that plants them in the rows. A crew follows to make sure they were planted right. They worked fast to beat the rains that are expected later this week.
