Small town Flagler Beach (5,000 residents) has a 4th of July parade before the evening fireworks for the thousands who flock to the beach to celebrate our nation's birth. Here is a look. Of course the police get everyone's attention for the color guard.
This is followed by Uncle Sam and dignitaries in old cars
followed by various queens riding on a tractor and lots of old cars and cars with patriotic colors and every car in the local corvette club.
There were also patriots tossing out candy, the local roller derby team, boy scouts, knights of Columbus, and old time parrot headers.
There was a Noah's Ark float from a church, a submarine float from the submarine veterans, a birthday cake float to celebration the 100th birthday of nearby Bunnell, and a Polish float from a nearby town of Korona founded by Poles years ago.
Closing the parade were the horses. You can guess which part of the parade was the favorite of one of the spectators.
