Moving on up!!

What size do we want our new log home to be? Baby Bear, Mama Bear, or Papa Bear size?
We'll soon find out because we are now an official construction site with posted permits and plans...
and a porta potty for the workers.
We've even had our official ground breaking ceremony.

Let's celebrate by going bowling!

Snow birds

Where do the Robin Redbreasts go when the snows come up north? To Florida, of course, with all the other snowbirds. There are now hundreds flying around our 30 acres. Here are a couple of examples.

New Year's Fun

What did the Thompson clan do to bring in the New Year?
Of course, we went to the 30 acres to ride horses...
and cook hot dogs. We forgot the hot dog roasting sticks so we improvised with a pitch fork, farmer style. We used the logs for our new home as a table.
We played at the beach and shot off rockets in the back yard.
That night we enjoyed steaming and eating two large bags of fresh Florida oysters to give us good luck and stamina for the new year while warming ourselves around a bonfire before shooting off our own fireworks.
The next day we went camping for three days at Hontoon Island state park on the St. John's River.
We hiked through the jungles of Florida and found plenty of manatees.
Do the explorers look happy?
What a great way to start the new year!! Happy New Year, everyone!!
