Bahama Mama

We just got back from 2 days in the Bahamas with Sage and family on a Disney cruise.
Of course, there was lots of great food...
and time to relax and try our hand at being Bahamian pirates.
We had two rooms that slept 5 with a bunk and Murphy bed at night.
In Nassau we hired a taxi to tour the rich and poor sections of town. We started out where the rich stay at the Atlantis with it casinos, fancy beaches and million dollar chandeliers. David about got sucked in to the glitz.
We then set out to see how regular Bahamians live. We grabbed a bite of fresh conch salad and fresh coconut at the fish docks. Mary helped clean the conch to get out the meat. We also found the local LDS chapel then enjoyed the local beach.
Our second day was at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. We all finished the 5K run/walk (David won the race out of several hundred runners, grandma and I walked. David was trotting to the finish line by the time we made it to the first turn. Even Stephen finish ahead of much of the pack.) We had a great time relaxing in the sand.
Thanks to Sage for making all the arrangements for a great trip.

  1. What? Do you mean David won the whole race? That's awesome! I like Stephen in the back found of Gma's I'm Full picture. It's he catching food tossed to him? That's an interesting feeding method.

  2. The Chihuly chandeliers are cool too. Fancy.
