Devecser update

We have a new route for inspecting missionary apartments. We now do Pápa near where the toxic flood was last fall that we reported on our blog. We decided to drop by on the way home to see how things are now.

This is the remains of a "büfe" or fast food restaurant at the entrance to town. Be sure to click on the pictures for a closer look. Note how they are removing the soil and replacing it with new.

This is the remains of the park across the street. Notice how far up the trees the sludge got.

Most of the town was higher up and wasn't touched. This house is in a middle section and you can see how deep the sludge was.

This house was in the worse hit part. They may be going to tear it down. They have removed most of the houses in the worst hit sections and are replacing the soil.
